According to the report, the student had informed the company about a bug in the app. This bug allows users to change the thumbnail of their Instagram reels from any account without having to enter their login and password.

Let us tell you that due to this bug, the account of Instagram users could have been threatened by hackers. This allowed the thumbnail feature to be issued without even using login credentials. After getting the information, Meta demanded a demo from the young man. After this the student showed in a demo how this bug works. After this Meta has approved the report of this boy and then rewarded him with a reward of Rs 38 lakh.

The thumbnail of the reel could be changed
According to the report, through a bug found in Instagram, the thumbnail of the reel could be changed from any account. No matter how strong the account holder’s password was, all it needed was the account’s media ID to change it. The student told that he had found a bug in his Instagram account in December last year on the photo-sharing platform.

asked to share demo
The student said that he came to know about the bug on Instagram on the morning of January 31. After this, he sent a report about this to Facebook. After three days he got a reply from Facebook. Facebook asked him to share a demo. After which he shared the demo of the bug to the company.
